Catering at Deering Estate: What Couples Should Know

Deering Estate is one of South Florida’s most beautiful historic wedding venues, offering stunning waterfront ceremony views and a timeless, natural setting. We recently catered a wedding here, and while the venue is breathtaking, thoughtful planning is essential.

What Makes Deering Estate Special

The ceremony locations overlooking the water are truly unforgettable. The estate’s expansive, grassy grounds create a romantic atmosphere that feels private and elegant.

Important Planning Considerations

Deering Estate is a very large property, with most areas covered in grass. The on-site kitchen is approximately a 7-minute walk from the event spaces, so couples should plan accordingly. We recommend hiring additional service staff and selecting a menu that servers can comfortably carry over longer distances to ensure smooth and timely service.

If you’re using a tent, keep in mind that the maximum tent size allowed is 8 x 8 feet, which may affect your layout and guest count.

Timing & Guest Logistics

As a historic public estate, all events must end by 12:00 AM. If late-night dancing is a priority, this may not be the right fit. There are also no nearby hotels or Airbnbs, so arranging buses, shuttles, or Ubers is strongly recommended.

Our Take

With proper planning and an experienced catering team, Deering Estate is an incredible venue for couples seeking waterfront beauty and historic charm. Understanding the logistics ahead of time ensures a seamless and memorable celebration.
